Sporting stars on the silver screen

Vinnie Jones: Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was the former Wales football star’s first movie in 1998. He has gone on to star in more than 36 other film and TV shows.
Eric Cantona: The former Manchester United footballer has appeared in more than 15 films. He is best known here for his part as Monsieur de Foix in the historical drama Elizabeth.
Ray Winstone: Was an amateur boxer. He had his first movie break in Scum (1977). He now enjoys A-list status and has starred in 92 films.
Johnny Weissmuller: The Olympic gold medal- winning swimmer was most famous for his role as Tarzan.
Pele: The Brazilian football legend appeared in the 1981 film Escape to Victory alongside other greats including Bobby Moore.
OJ Simpson: The American Footballer-turned-actor appeared in films including The Naked Gun. He became infamous after he went on trial, and was acquitted, of murdering his wife.
Dwayne Douglas Johnson: The former professional wrestler, known during his time in the ring as The Rock, has appeared in a number of films, including The Scorpion King.
