James Radford came to Newham ABC at the age of six. He joined our nursery section where over the next five years he had a few gym shows. At the age of eleven he had his medical which enabled him to go out on bouts.
James has had 52 junior bouts winning 44 and losing 8, and has become one of the top young amateurs in the Country, winning two National School Boy Titles.
His first title was Class A in 2000 then the following year, 2001, Class B. In his third Season in the School Boy Championships as an Intermediate he reached the final for a third time, getting beat on a Close Decision in 2002.
He then went on to win another National Title which was the NABC Championships in 2004. In 2005 when he turned Senior he had four bouts on the way to getting into his fifth National Title, he was beaten in the final but not deterred by this. This year he is starting his quest for glory in the Senior ABA Championship at Bethnal Green York Hall on the 18th October 2006.
